Discover the wild landscapes of southern Kenya on a 4-day private safari combining the intimate wildlife experience of Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary with the vast wilderness of Tsavo East National Park. Stay at the iconic Salt Lick Safari Lodge, where elevated rooms overlook the sanctuary and its wildlife-filled waterhole, before continuing to Tsavo East for expansive game drives among the park’s famous red elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes and other wildlife. The journey combines a unique lodge experience, close wildlife encounters and the dramatic landscapes of one of Kenya’s largest national parks.

Day 01 :

Nairobi – Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

Depart Nairobi in the morning and travel south towards the Taita-Taveta region, enjoying the changing landscapes along the Nairobi–Mombasa route. Arrive at Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in time for lunch before settling into Salt Lick Safari Lodge, famous for its distinctive elevated architecture and views towards the surrounding wildlife areas. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive through the sanctuary, searching for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, lions and other wildlife. As the afternoon ends, return to the lodge and enjoy the unique experience of watching wildlife around the waterhole before dinner.

Day 02 :

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary – Full-Day Wildlife Experience

Start the morning with an early game drive through Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary when wildlife is most active. Return to the lodge for breakfast before continuing to explore the sanctuary through another game drive or, subject to availability, a guided nature walk with a ranger. The sanctuary's 28,000-acre landscape supports more than 50 mammal species and hundreds of bird species, providing plenty to discover beyond the main wildlife sightings. After lunch, enjoy some time at the lodge before heading out for an afternoon game drive and a final opportunity to watch animals around the waterhole.

Day 03 :

Taita Hills – Tsavo East National Park

After breakfast, check out and depart Taita Hills for Tsavo East National Park, continuing your safari through the vast landscapes of the Tsavo ecosystem. Enter the park and begin your game drive as you make your way towards your accommodation, keeping watch for the park's famous red elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and other wildlife. Depending on your route and timing, explore areas around key wildlife-viewing locations such as Aruba Dam before continuing to your lodge or camp. Enjoy lunch and some time to relax before an afternoon game drive across the expansive Tsavo East wilderness, followed by dinner at your accommodation.

Day 04 :

Tsavo East National Park – Nairobi

Enjoy an early morning game drive through Tsavo East, taking advantage of the cooler hours when wildlife is active. Explore the park's open plains and bushland while looking for elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes and other wildlife, with the dramatic Tsavo landscape providing a memorable final backdrop to the safari. Return to your accommodation for breakfast before checking out and beginning the journey back to Nairobi. Stop for lunch along the way and continue to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon.
